What PetroMap is

A subsurface-intelligence platform for Saudi Arabia: an interactive field map, a cited petroleum-geology knowledge base (RAG) answering in Arabic and English, a 3D underworld explorer of modeled reservoir bodies, and a literature-derived prospectivity-lead screening layer. It is a screening and hypothesis-generation aid — complementary to, and never a replacement for, an operator's proprietary interpretation (e.g. EXPEC ARC).

Prospectivity engine
OverCaml consensus scoring (multi-factor, adversarial). Leads are hypotheses, not reserves.

Methodology

Books & published literature → layout-aware extraction → embeddings (bge-small) → vector store (sqlite-vec).
Queries retrieve top-k cited passages; answers are generated with inline [Title p.N] citations and refuse to invent reserves or locations.
Prospectivity leads score each candidate on source-rock maturity, reservoir presence, trap style, frontier context and data-gap, aggregated by the OverCaml consensus into a 0-100 index + confidence tier.
Recent open-source chatter (X / Telegram) is collected separately, flagged unverified, and quarantined from the authoritative geology corpus.

Honest framing (what this is NOT)

Predicted leads are literature-derived hypotheses for screening only — NOT reserves, NOT proven, and are restricted to genuinely underexplored frontier context (Rub' al Khali unconventional, deep pre-Khuff). PetroMap makes no claim on any operator's proprietary seismic or well data and does not re-predict mapped giant fields. Petroleum is hosted in the pore/fracture space of reservoir rock under seals — not in caverns or pools.

Deployment & compliance posture

Designed to run in-Kingdom for PDPL and NCA CCC-2:2024 data-residency, with a path to SACS-002 CCC readiness and iktva localization. Pilot-first engagement via Wa'ed Ventures / Aramco Digital or a scoped POC.
